Job Description

Due to a retirement, our client needs an Industrial Electrician. You will perform the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of industrial equipment and systems to ensure optimal efficiency and uptime. It would be ideal if you had experience with PLCs, automation, control and electrical systems in an industrial setting. You will be part of an organization with a dynamic leadership team that truly values and appreciates the people that work there. This is first Shift, 7 AM to 3 PM, with some flexibility on Friday hours.

What you will be doing:

  • Support production processing equipment utilizing integrated controls, PLCs, HMIs, and drives
  • Provide on-site support for the building electrical system, BAS and legacy HVAC equipment
  • Effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair all electrical and electromechanical equipment including solid state circuits, circuit boards, transducers, relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices, solenoid valves, vacuum pumps and flow meters
  • Work with high-voltage systems (120/240V single-phase and 240/480V/600V three-phase)
  • Perform low and high voltage electrical installation of production equipment and facilities equipment including HVAC equipment, compressors and plant lighting. Remove equipment as needed
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules , maintain records, order repair and spare parts as needed for assigned equipment and systems
  • Work with local contractors directly during installation and repair of equipment
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical manuals
  • Create work instructions to assist other team members with troubleshooting or repair
  • Collaborate across teams and departments and communicate technical issues clearly
  • Observe and comply with safety rules and regulations, utilizing OSHA-regulated standards, company safety rules and plant rules when troubleshooting and repairing equipment, especially where high voltages are involved

What they are looking for:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Electricity, Mechatronics, or similar
  • Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician is strongly preferred
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ direct experience working as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of industrial automation systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, B&R, etc.), HMIs, solid state circuitry, electronics, electromechanical devices, switchgears, AC/DC motors, and drives
  • Demonstrates the ability to logically troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Knowledge of NEC and local code requirements
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches
  • Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment, i.e., electrical test equipment, hand tools, EMT benders, and threaders
  • Must be highly safety conscious
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
