Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Licensed Customs Broker to lead and manage our import regulatory compliance processes. This role is critical in ensuring our shipments comply with all U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), including the DEA, USDA, FDA, CDC, and US Fish and Wildlife. The ideal candidate will possess a current U.S. Customs Broker License and bring expertise in customs documentation, classification, and communication with regulatory bodies.

Main Job Duties:

  • Review and sign import documentation submitted to U.S. Customs and relevant PGAs (DEA, FDA, CDC, USDA, Fish & Wildlife) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a resource to internal teams, clients, and partner offices by answering questions regarding U.S. import/export regulations.
  • Respond to external inquiries requesting authorization or clearance to ship goods to the United States.
  • Classify goods using the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to determine applicable duties and ensure correct rating of shipments.
  • Liaise directly with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and clients to resolve issues or facilitate smooth clearance.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage required documentation to various regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with changes in customs regulations, trade laws, and agency policies , and proactively train and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of internal SOPs and ensure all procedures are followed accurately.
  • Manage and maintain Power of Attorney (POA) records and ensure proper legal authority is on file for customs transactions.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: Valid U.S. Customs Broker License.
  • 3+ years of experience in customs brokerage, regulatory compliance, or international trade.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CBP procedures and regulations, including those of PGAs (DEA, USDA, FDA, CDC, USFWS).
  • Strong working knowledge of HTS classification, customs documentation, and import clearance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear and professional communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and customs brokerage software (e.g., Descartes, WiseTech, or similar).
  • Proven experience training others or building internal compliance knowledge bases.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting life sciences, healthcare logistics, or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with ACE, ABI, and PGA message sets.
  • Bilingual capabilities a plus (especially Mandarin or Spanish).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
