GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Manager of Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support our business objectives and promote a culture of excellence. This role involves overseeing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and compliance with labor laws. The ideal manager has a strong background in HR management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building and sustaining a positive work culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an HR leadership or Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency with HR software and tools. Paychex experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
TASKS:
- Develop and execute comprehensive human resources strategies that support the pharmacy’s long-term business objectives and growth initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, offering expert advice on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
- Champion a values-driven culture by modeling integrity, respect, and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
- Guide pharmacy management team, providing direction, professional development, and support to ensure high performance.
Recruitment & talent acquisition:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment efforts to meet the pharmacy’s staffing needs, including finalizing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating offers.
- Build partnerships with local professional organizations and job boards to attract high-quality candidates.
- Design and oversee a welcoming and structured onboarding process that accelerates new hires’ integration and productivity.
- Evaluate and refine recruitment strategies to ensure alignment with workforce goals and diversity initiatives.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management by addressing workplace issues with fairness and discretion.
- Resolve employee concerns through timely mediation, investigation, and conflict resolution processes.
- Promote a culture of open communication by facilitating regular check-ins and employee feedback mechanisms.
- Lead efforts to increase morale and engagement through employee recognition, celebrations, wellness programs, and surveys.
Performance Management:
- Implement and maintain performance appraisal systems that support continuous feedback, goal setting, and career progression.
- Coach managers on delivering constructive feedback and managing performance challenges effectively.
- Identify high-potential employees and coordinate succession planning efforts.
- Align individual and team goals with organizational priorities to support pharmacy-wide quarterly recognition program.
Compliance and Policies:
- Ensure HR practices comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour laws, FMLA, and workplace safety regulations.
- Regularly review, update, and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook to reflect legal changes and organizational updates.
- Conduct audits and training to reinforce compliance and ethical workplace behavior.
- Manage required workplace postings and posters throughout the campus.
- Serve as the point of contact for labor-related investigations, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs that support employee satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular benchmarking and internal equity analyses to inform pay structures and benefit offerings.
- Liaise with brokers and vendors to manage health, retirement, and wellness benefit plans. ● Educate employees on their compensation packages and available resources.
Learning and Development:
- Assess organizational and team training needs in coordination with leadership.
- Design and deliver learning programs focused on compliance, leadership, pharmacy-specific skills, and career development.
- Support professional (re)certification and continuing education initiatives for pharmacists and support staff.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key HR indicators such as turnover, engagement, absenteeism, and hiring metrics.
- Prepare and present reports to leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
- Use data-driven insights to assess the impact of HR programs and recommend improvements.
- Maintain HR systems and ensure accuracy of employee records and reporting data.
