About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Brokerage Support Representative for Glatfelter Brokerage Services. Under general supervision, this role provides underwriting and administrative support and serves as the intermediary between Glatfelter distribution partners and multiple AIG Underwriting teams in the policy underwriting lifecycle from processing of new and renewal business submissions through policy bind and issuance within Glatfelter Brokerage Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate customer and account data within record management system consistent with established file procedures and documentation standards.
• Determine completeness of applications and related documents received in submission inbox, establish files in record management system, forward application to appropriate Underwriting team, communicate with Broker.
• Function as communication liaison between Broker and Underwriter with expectation of positive relationship building with both.
• Timely and accurate filing of documentation within appropriate system.
• Process quotes, binders and policies with relevant surplus lines compliance elements to include accurate calculation of state taxes and fees.
• Follow up on compliance documentation as needed.
• Perform billing activities upon policy bind or issuance.
• Monitor broker facing and carrier facing email inboxes daily.
• Provide accurate, valid, and complete information, including policy information, to authorized parties.
• Ensures the accurate and efficient processing of assignments within designated span of control.
• Uphold the highest standards of customer satisfaction and service to GIG and AIG business units, and our external distribution network.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and dispose of material in approved manner.
• Contributes to the team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum one (1) year work experience in a Property Casualty insurance agency or company with proven knowledge of brokerage, retail, and/or carrier operations. Underwriting Assistant or Customer Service experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proficient technical knowledge in using software and systems required in the performance of the position
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, including but not limited to, underwriters, customers, marketing representatives and service team members
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to act with integrity and empathy to build rapport and establish trust with team members and customers
• Positive phone disposition, with the ability to maintain confidence when communicating information to clients.
• Conscientious and consistent detail-orientation with strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Passion to provide the highest quality of customer service to clients.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, processes and directions.
